Alexi, feeling amused, shares her feelings about a guy named Alexander with her friend Rose. Although she tries to focus on her achievements and forget about romance, she unexpectedly runs into Alexander at the airport in New York. They reconnect and agree to meet for lunch, becoming friends over time. Their friendship transforms both of their lives, with Alexander becoming happier and Alexi opening up more to people. They start developing feelings for each other but are hesitant to express them for fear of losing their friendship. One day, Alexi sees Alexander with another woman and feels jealous. When she confronts him, he reveals that the woman was proposing to him, prompting Alexi to confess her feelings for him, saying she likes him and might love him in the future. Alexander is surprised by her confession and secretly pleased that his plan to make her jealous worked.
