Once upon a time, a poor boy named Tani lived with his grandmother, and they made a living selling milk from their two cows and two goats. Every day, Tani took his animals to graze in the lush fields, passing through a dense forest rumored to be inhabited by magical beings like pixies, elves, goblins, and wizards. Although he had never encountered any of them, Tani longed to meet these mystical creatures. While his herd grazed, Tani often played his flute beautifully, captivating anyone who heard him. As time went on, Tani's responsibilities grew as his flock increased and his grandmother became frailer. One day, a fierce thunderstorm struck while Tani was returning from the fields, forcing him to run with his animals into the dark and eerie forest. The silence was unsettling, and Tani felt a sense of dread, remembering the legends that warned of dangers within the woods. Exhausted and frightened, Tani eventually fell asleep beneath a tree. He was awakened by faint murmurs coming from a cluster of toadstools nearby. To his astonishment, he heard a voice pleading for help from the largest mushroom. Just as he was trying to comprehend the situation, a whirlwind appeared, revealing a shadowy creature with a mix of human and beastly features. Terrified, Tani froze as the creature sensed his fear and called out to him.
