અવિનાશ નામનો 23 વર્ષનો યુવકની વાત છે. તે ભણવામાં ખૂબ જ તીવ્ર અને હોશિયાર હતો. તેના પિતા શિક્ષક હતા. માટે તેમનો બેકગ્રાઉન્ડ કે ખાસ ન હતું. મધ્યમ વર્ગીય પરિવારમા મોટો થતો યુવક ગાયન તથા વાદનની અદભુત કલાથી જન્મ્યો હતો. તેનું ગાયન વાદન એટલું સુરેલું હતું કે જ્યાં સ્વયં શારદા તેના કંઠમાં બિરાજમાન હોય.તે શાળાની નાની મોટી સ્પર્ધામાં ભાગ લેતો રહેતો. હાર અને જીત તેના માટે સિક્કાની બે બાજુઓ માત્ર હતી, પણ "પ્રયત્ન છેલ્લે શ્વાસ સુધી કરવો" તેવું દ્રઢ નિર્ણય સાથે માનતો.તે યુવક જે-જે શાળાઓ કે કોલેજના ભાગ લઈને જતો, તો ક્રમાંક મેળવવાના પૂર્ણ પ્રયત્ન કરતો. તેને ગાયન તથા વાદનમાં અતિશય
