Split Personality

A romantic, paranormal and psychological thriller

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“Now you can be fucked if you want. You are a woman now and you accommodate a man’s thing completely into you, is it is not? That’s what Charakka said to us on that day.” There was a sort of thrill in the face of Evalla while saying that.

“My god! Eva, you are talking all the bad things! It is just like that you are waiting to become a woman to enjoy fucking. Thinking like that is quite bad and mother is quite against that. You silly promiscuous girl!” with gathered frowns Okatho admonished sister.

“If it is that much wrong, why our mother is doing that then every day with that many men?”  with knitted brows Evalla questioned her.

“You idiot! It has become compulsion on her part. She just could not escape so she is doing it like that.” Okatho yelled. “If it is enjoyable, why does she try to prevent us from doing that?”

“Thinking about it is enjoyable so doing it also would be enjoyable.” Evalla said “If she stops feeling bad what she is doing and put her mind on that, I think she can enjoy that.”

“Prostitutes are considered like worms in the society. They have no value at all. Did not you see how we both have been avoided by the other children in the village just because we are the daughters of a prostitute?”

“But it was not so during the time of our great great grandfather Michivako and later on also. As long as our people have been devoted to Amsara and followed his ways there was no problem to them. From the moment they started disrespectful to him and questioning him, our down fall started. If we continue our loyalty to Amsara and followed his ways, our present situation would become different.”

“What Evalla said is absolutely true.” It was a woman’s voice, both of them startled on hearing that and turned back only to find a sixty years or so aged woman standing behind them. She attired with white clothes, her hair also  was white, dense and loose covering her frontal and backside features also. Her eyes were small, forehead was wide and on the whole there was an attraction in her.

“Who are you?” it was Evalla who questioned her. “And how can you know about my name?”

“I know many a thing darling! I know all about your family history also.” That old woman laughed.

“I asked you who are you and I don’t like your listening to our conversation also.” With an irritating expression in her face Evalla said.

“I am Pomya. The only great devotee of Amsara who could get his grace even as a virgin. Amsara prefers to accept only the pregnant woman but in my case he gave an exception and accepted me even I was a virgin. I appear to the people who like Amsara and who are liked by Amsara also. Amsara likes your family a lot just because you people are the direct descendants of Michivako. If your mother is not stubborn like that, your family condition would have been quite different on this day. Just because of her stupidity your family cannot get the grace of Amsara even after he accepted her. Your sister Okatho cannot be the lucky child and get special powers even she survived the sexual intercourse of Amsara. All those children who survive sexual intercourse of Amsara with their mothers and take birth do have special powers.”

“I don’t have much worry about it at all. Our mother always says that Amsara’s ways are nasty and disgraceful! He likes incest which we abhor a lot. Our mother says doing the things that Amsara likes is quite bad and against god’s ways. I just want to think and do in the way mother thinks and likes.” Okatho said firmly.

“What benefit your mother got by thinking like that and by going against Amsara so? What good god did to her even though she has been following his ways and devoted to him?” Pomya questioned her.

“I cannot say anything to that. In mother’s opinion god’s ways are slow but worth following. I just want to hear what mother says but no one else.” The firmness was just so in the voice of Okatho.

“It is not so for me. I just want to follow the way shown by our great great grandfather Michivako. I don’t know why but I am feeling too much attracted to him. He is so handsome I must say.”Evalla said.

“It is just because dear girl..................” while Pomya was laughing Okatho and Evalla looked at her. “.............you are no one else but his mistress Tarima and you both were great devotees of Amsara. Amsara managing that you both do become man and wife in every life of you both and this happens in this life also. Just because of your love towards him in every life of you, you are feeling like that in this life also.”

“Quite surprising! I don’t know about this till now.” There was thrill and happiness in the face of Evalla. “How nice it would have been if I know about Michivako even more. What all I know about him is what I heard from my parents and they never talked much about him.”

“If you read the book he wrote about himself and Amsara, you can know everything not only about Michivako but yourself as Tarima then and how to adore and get the grace of Amsara. That book is in your home and you can read if you want.”

“I saw that book but I am not that much proficient in reading it. Someone must help me.” Then Evalla looked into the face of Okatho. “Sister, you have to help me in reading that book.”

“I never even touch that book. That is the book most disgusting, sinful and untouchable. I think we get sin even by thinking about it. I don’t know why mother did not throw that book away yet.”Evalla said.

“Someone help you in reading that book. Amsara helps you in reading and understanding that book Evalla.”

Evalla wanted to ask something more but Pomya was suddenly disappeared. While Okatho and Evalla were looking into each other’s faces, they heard the voice of Charakka from behind.

“You both sisters again here? How you do get your time pass here I cannot understand.”

“We talk and play, what else?” Evalla laughed. “But Charakka we saw Pomya on this day. She told us very important things!”

“Is that so? What you have learnt from her?” with a smile on his lips Charakka asked her looking into her face. Okatho was still with a disgusting and angry expression.

Evalla explained everything that Pomya told to them both to Charakka. “You just don’t know how much thrilled I am to know that I was the mistress of Michivako. Pomya said I can learn even more if I read the book written by him. I cannot read that book myself and Okatho is not ready to help me in reading it.”

“I never even touch that book.” Okatho angrily said. “I recommend you not even think about that.”

“In those days while I was coming to your home along with your father, we both read that book but I forgot most of what I have read. Anyhow I have no objection to help you in reading that book.” Charakka said.

“But mother never does agree you read that book. She hates it with whole of her heart and I also do the same.” Okatho was still angry.

“It is a great book written by your great grandfather. You should read that book and know about your role in those days. Pomya is a very great lady and she never says lies. If she said like that you must be Tarima, his mistress then.” There was surprise in the face of Charakka.

“And you know who is that Tarima? She was the half-sister of that most despicable man Michivako. She loved him and was his mistress for whole of his life. You have to feel disgust on yourself if you were that woman who could love his half-brother and was his concubine.” The disgust in Okatho was increased even more.

“Sister, you read that book then?” with surprise in her face Evalla asked her.

“No, I did not.” Okatho nodded her head in negation. “But I heard while our parents were talking about them. I think both of our parents read that book.”

“Yes, Okatho is right. Lamba, one of the villagers in those days, was a customer to Michivako’s mother. In other ways it never could be known but Michivako inherited some of the characteristics of Lamba so everyone in the village understood that Michivako was Lamba’s son. In such a way the three daughters of Lamba were the half-sisters of Michivako. Lamba has three daughters to his wife and later when he lost everything in his life he put his wife along with his three daughters into trade. Michivako not only fucked the three daughters of Lamba but kept his eldest daughter as his mistress.” Charakka said.

“I cannot bear hearing these types of things anymore. I am going away.” Okatho said and ran away from that place.

“Charakka, you have to keep your promise.” Looking seriously into the face of Charakka, Evalla said.

“Its my pleasure, Eva.” Charakka laughed. “I have forgotten most of what I read and I really like remembering all of that.”

“It is the most disgusting book on the earth Charakka. Reading that book make our already spoiled Evalla to spoil even more.” When Charakka expressed his intention to read that book to Evalla, Vesavaviri said.

“But I promised Evalla that I help her reading that book to her. If I help her in it, she not only knows the history of her great ancestor Michivako but learn to understand and read the language also.”

“The less my girls know about that Michivako the better. The most despicable, worst and disgusting personality on the earth. Not just that, he wrote about that bloody god Amsara also in it.” Vesavaviri said with the same anger but suddenly came some peaceful expression in her face. “Alright. Help her knowing about the history of her great grandfather. Atleast even after knowing about him in full, there may come some change in her.”

“It is the book in our family from the time of Michivako. I don’t like you to take this out of our home.” When Charakka took that book out from the place Mavamavayi said.

Charakka laughed and said. “Are you thinking that it was the same book written by Michivako? This has been rewritten two or three times in the meantime and the photograph of Michivako also is not the same but redrawn. Anyhow I shall be quite careful with this book and put it in the same place after reading it every time.”

“That river bank is the best place to read this book. We both shall go there to read this one.” Charkka said looking into the face of Evalla and Evalla nodded her head.

While they both were going towards the river they found Okatho also following them and both of them did not care about her. When Evalla and Charakka settled on a sand mound, Okatho also came near to them and sat on the other side of Charakka.

“You said you don’t like reading this book.” Evalla said looking into the face of Okatho.

“I don’t read. I just hear what Charakka do read.” Okatho laughed and said. “Good or bad it has been written by our great great grandfather. I also want to know about him in full.”

“Alright. We do start reading this.” Charakka said and opened the book.

That book has been written on special paper to make it last long but Charakka understood it was written on palm leaves as there was no paper in the days of Michivako. The full attention of both the sisters drawn towards what they were hearing while Charakka was reading out the story of it slowly to them.
