THE LOST COSMIC ENTITY

It was an icy night in New York City, July 27, 2007, and snow was falling covering the streets with a silent white mantle. The wind whistled between the buildings and made the trees crackle, while yellow lights barely illuminated the sidewalks and the cold pierced the bone. An 8-year-old boy, named John, was walking back home, with his hands in his pockets and the collar of his coat raised. His steps sank gently into the snow and his breath came out in small clouds of steam. He was so focused on not slipping that he barely noticed anything strange in the sky, something that seemed out of this world. There, between the dense clouds and the darkness of the night, a human-shaped figure appeared, completely black, with two white eyes that shone like lanterns in nothingness. The figure floated silently, moving with its own gravity, and seemed to absorb the light around it. John stopped, paralyzed, hypnotized by the vision. He didn't understand what he was seeing, but something inside him told him that it wasn't normal, that it was something ancient and powerful. His eyes widened even more when the figure leaned slightly towards him, as if he recognized him, as if he knew who he was and what his destiny would be.Suddenly, a car appeared at full speed, about to run over him. John didn't have time to react. The black figure moved in the blink of an eye and, with a gesture that seemed simple but full of strength, moved the boy away from the trajectory. The car shot up and ended up crashing into the roof of a nearby house, raising a rain of debris and snow. The boy fell to his knees on the sidewalk, trembling and breathing hard, while the figure slowly returned to the sky and disappeared between the clouds. His presence left an intense cold and an overwhelming silence that made even the snow seem to freeze in the air.Trembling, John ran home, his heart beating wild, while in his head the image of the figure did not stop repeating. That night, during dinner, he told his parents everything. His mother didn't believe him, thinking it was a game of imagination. His father only laughed condescendingly, trying to hide the concern he felt, as if something inside him knew that it was real.Later, when everyone was asleep, the father went out into the courtyard, looking at the sky with a frown and an alert sense. In the distance, something moved between the stars, something that shouldn't be there. The darkness began to take shape. It was not a physical body, but the absence of everything, a shadow with two white eyes shining in nothingness. The father stepped back, understanding that everything he had been told as a child was not a story, but a real warning."So... you were real," he whispered with fear, his voice trembling. The dark entity watched him. His mere presence made the man's heart beat hard and his skin bristle. The Darkness was conscious and seemed to measure man, recognizing something in him, a bond with what was to come. The father didn't say anything else. He just stood there, motionless, while the shadow rose a little more towards the sky, as if he were watching the Earth with infinite patience. He knew that this was just the beginning, and that his world, and that of his son, was about to change forever. The night remained silent, but nothing would be the same again....
