Chapter 7: Blood Bond

When love dies,
only one thing takes its place—fear.
And fear knows only one rule:
me or you.

After Yui’s death, Ren became completely silent. No anger, no tears. Just an empty face, as if something had been taken out of him. The curse had grown thicker around him—people started keeping their distance, without knowing why.

But Kaito did not leave.
He stayed with Ren, all the time. He did not talk much, he just watched. And in his eyes, there was less love now, more calculation.

“You’ve changed,” Kaito said one night.

Ren did not reply.

They were standing near the old swimming complex—an abandoned place where laughter once lived, now only echoes remained. Water dripped from the ceiling. The darkness felt sticky.

“Kaito… leave me alone,” Ren finally said.

Kaito did not laugh.
“Are you pushing me away… or are you running from yourself?”

Ren turned to look at him.

And that was the moment—
when their eyes met.

A burning sensation rose in Kaito’s chest. His hands turned cold. He felt it—the curse entering his veins, along with the memory of Yui’s blood.

“You feel it too, don’t you?” Kaito asked softly. “Like only one of us will survive.”

Ren lowered his eyes.
Silence was his answer.

Kaito understood.

He looked back—the gate was closed. There was no way out. He looked at Ren again. The person he loved. Or maybe once loved.

“I don’t want to die,” Kaito said. His voice was shaking, but his eyes were steady.

Before Ren could say anything, Kaito picked up a metal rod lying nearby—rusted, heavy. For a moment, his hands stopped.

Ren looked at him.
And in that look, there was love.

That was his mistake.

Kaito closed his eyes—
and struck.

Once.
Then again.

Blood spread across the floor, mixing with the water, turning from red to black. Ren fell down, eyes open—as if he was still seeing.

Kaito stepped back, breathing broken.
“I’m… sorry,” he said. “I wanted to live.”

And the moment he said that—
the curse touched him.

Black veins appeared near his eyes. A cold burn spread across his lips—the new signature of the Black Kiss.

Love was no longer a choice.
It had become a transaction.

Somewhere far away, Akari clutched her head. Mika smiled—slow, satisfied. In corners of the city, people began to fall, just by looking at each other.

Eyes kept meeting.
Blood kept falling.

The blood bond was complete.
And the Black Kiss was no longer alive only on love,
but on survival.

In Next Chapter....

Mika was no longer human.
She had become an idea.

Ren was dead.
Yui was gone.
Kaito was hiding somewhere, covered in blood.
And Akari… Akari was just breathing.

Mika stood in the middle of the campus—in the morning, when people believe life is still normal. She wore the same smile that once looked cute. Now it was wrong. A little too wide. A little too calm.

“If love is....
