Her Attention - 1

 Part 1: The Different route

The van took a different route.

I gazed out my window. Bright blue sky. Tall buildings. I hadn't looked at that before.

A tree with green leaves on one vertical half and dried leaves on the other. "What kind of tree is this?" I stared. "Pretty weird. Is it alive or not?" My mind boggled.

The van driver slammed the brakes. The van jerked forward and back.

A new girl got into the van. I didn't notice her. I was still gazing at the weird tree.

I sat at the back. My cousin called me from the front. I glanced at her. There I saw a bright white light forming like a girl.

My eyes widened. My hands trembled.

That light form waved its hand, turning back and looking at me.

I hid my face behind my bag. Everyone laughed at me.

Those giggles broke the silence within my heart. My heart paced faster. I quickly covered my ears with my hands.

Closed my eyes.

Someone tapped my shoulder.

My entire body shivered.

I hesitated to look at them.

I held my breath for a moment.

The moment stilled.

No eerie laughs.

No tapping on my shoulders.

Just silence.

Slowly, I looked up.

Everyone had vanished from the van.

Except her.

That bright form turned back. Stood up. Walked towards me. Sat beside me.

Opened its mouth to tell something.

It touched my forehead like keeping its hand like a gun.

As soon as it touched, my body temperature rose drastically.

I felt a mild heat on my forehead.

Its touch felt like cold dry ice placed on my forehead. Chills.

My eyes blurred.

A soft voice called my name…

RRRIIIINNNGG-RRRIIIINNNGG! 🕭

The alarm snoozed like a growling monster under my bed.

Its 6:13 AM

"Ahhhh, someone please stop this!" I screamed.

My bed was wet.

From my sweat.

"Mom!" I screamed.

"Why is this room so warm?"

She answered, "Today there's a power cut!"

"Damn it," I muttered.

I woke up and swept the bedsheets aside. Momentously.

Mom shouted, "Get ready for school!" The scream tore through the wall and slapped my ears.

Looking in the mirror, I squinted into the dimly lit reflection. My heavy, sleepy eyes blinked slowly as I tried to shake the lingering fog from my mind.

I drank water.

When Care Became Control.

"I am the victim of my parents' desire." Ouch, my head rolled like a giant wheel.

My mind ran through random stuff. At last, I was ready to go to school.

Part 2: The New School

"Ouch, My parent's desire ruined my energy."

my voice lowed.

My parents changed my school in my senior secondary education.

I went to a new school.

I am not alone here.

I had an accompaniment—my cousin, Anika Charvi.

Though she was with me, I felt isolated. I missed my friends. Thats the big loss for me. And the next biggest problem is adapting to the new school.

New school.

New academics.

New books.

New people.

Nothing bothered me,Except my cousin's show-off.

That's the only thing, I cant bare it.muttered myself.

She had one of her friends from the old school—Tanvi Sariska. I didn't even see Tanvi in my old school.

Rather than saying I didn't see her, I'd say I didn't even notice her presence. Now it's better to say.

That's a separate story—meeting her for the first time.
