The Coffeeshop

Udaipur, a beautiful city in Rajasthan, is known for its lakes and magnificent palaces. It is a place where history and nature combine to create a captivating scene. The Aravali range adds more beauty to this place. Overall, it is a great combination of hills, lakes, and palaces.

It was a rainy day in Udaipur. Rain had continued since the afternoon. There was a coffee shop named "The Cozy Cup" near Fateh Sagar Lake. Fateh Sagar Lake offered a calm and beautiful view of Udaipur. The combination of blue water and green mountains was soothing to the eyes, and it was easy to get lost in the tranquility there.

The weather was quite romantic, and the coffee shop was full of couples. They were enjoying the weather and coffee.

Ritika, a 24-year-old chartered accountant, was in that shop but she was alone. She had just broken up with her boyfriend Rohan because he was cheating on her. She had given him many chances to change, but it was of no use.
She was very sad and remembering the old days when she was happy with Rohan. She had wanted to marry him, but he had been postponing it for a long time. Her parents wanted her to marry someone, but she was waiting for Rohan.
But Rohan had broken her heart many times because he was also in relationships with other girls. So, she finally broke up with him.

Now she was alone and sat in the coffee shop. The weather was good, but her heart was sad.

It was nearly 4 o'clock, and rain had continued for two hours. And then, the bell above the door jingled, announcing a new arrival. A young man stepped inside, his hair plastered to his forehead by the rain, water dripping from the ends of his soaked jacket. He made himself comfortable and took off his jacket.

There was no vacant seat there except the one before Ritika. He hesitantly reached there and started talking.

The Boy: Hello Miss. May I sit here if you are comfortable? You can see that there is no vacant seat here at the moment.
Ritika saw him and nodded her head without any expression. The boy sat there, and then silence spread between the two of them. After some time, the boy started talking.

The Boy: By the way, my name is Ishan. What's yours?

Ishan, a 27-year-old software engineer, had just recovered from the pain of separation with his girlfriend Seema. Some pain was still in his heart, but he managed it. She was in the same company and had an affair with their boss. She chose this path to achieve great success in her career, and for this, she sacrificed the love between her and Ishan.

Ritika: I am Ritika. And please, no more questions because I don't want to talk.

And again, silence spread for a long time until Ishan broke it.

Ishan: If you don't mind, then we can talk for some time because it is heavy rain and it may take some more time to stop. So, until then, we can talk to pass the time.

Ritika: I have no problem with you, but I don't want to talk because I am not in that condition.

Ishan: It looks like you are going through the pain of separation from someone.

Ritika: How can you say that?

Ishan: In this shop, full of couples and romantic weather, what can a lonely girl do? Maybe she will be lost in some good and bad memories.

Saying that, Ishan smiled. He again started to talk.

Ishan: I have just passed through the same phase as you. I have also borne the same pain of separation from someone. If you are comfortable, then you can share it with me. Maybe you'll feel better.

Ritika: What is your story?

Ishan told her all about Seema, their love, and separation. Ritika was surprised that he also felt the same pain as her, but he was still full of life.

Ritika: It was sad, but it is good that you managed it very well.

Ishan: Yes, I tried a lot and am still trying.
What about you? You can tell me if you are comfortable.

Ritika felt some friendliness in his behavior, so she also told him about her past life with Rohan.

Ishan: We can't do anything in these matters. These are phases of life. I know it's not easy to forget someone you loved a lot, but we also can't stop living life because our other loved ones will also be sad after seeing us in this condition.

Ritika: Yes. You are right. I will try to do this like you.

Ishan: So, we can't get back our lovers, but we can get some coffee.
Saying that, Ishan laughed. Ritika also smiled after hearing that.

Ritika: Yes, I was so sad today that I forgot to drink it. By the way, I like the coffee of this shop very much.

Then they ordered coffee and talked about many things like their jobs, hobbies, families, and many more.
It was almost 7 o'clock when the rain slowed down. After some time, it stopped completely.

Ritika: So, it's time to say goodbye, but I really felt at peace.

Ishan: Me too. Hope that we will meet soon.

Then they left the coffee shop.

After that, they met each other in the coffee shop many times. They were enjoying each other's company, and love was blooming between them, but because of their past experiences, they were not ready to accept this feeling.

One day, it was again a rainy day, and they were enjoying coffee in the same shop.

Ritika: My parents want me to marry someone, and that family is coming to meet me tomorrow. We have to move forward in life.

Ishan: I am also doing the same. I will also be meeting someone tomorrow. My parents planned this, and this time I want to walk on the path told by them. I haven't even seen the picture of the girl.

Ritika: Same here. Parents always think what's good for us. So, I said yes to them without seeing the picture of the boy.
They were saying it, but inside they were broken. They were feeling the love between them but didn't want to take that path.

So, it was late, and they exchanged goodbyes because maybe it was their last meeting.

They came out of the shop and took their paths to their respective homes. But today, they were not happy. There were tears in their eyes. It was a feeling like one more separation.

And then the next day came. Ritika was with her parents in a family meeting room at "The Cozy Cup." They had built these rooms for private meetings and get-togethers. She was smiling on the face but was disappointed inside.

They were waiting for the boy and his family. After some time, he reached there, entered the room, and his eyes met Ritika's.

It was him.

It was Ishan.

Tears came out from their eyes. But this time, the feeling was different.

Ritika: Mom, Dad, it's a yes.

Ishan: Yes. Mom and Dad, it's a big yes.

So, there was a day when they were sharing their grief with each other in this coffee shop. And now, it was today when they were celebrating their happiness together at the same place.

Happily Ended.🙂
