A suspense, romantic and psychological thriller

By

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“Let him express his heart. It is a time to all of us to open our hearts and unburden ourselves.” Vinod said.

‘But I have lost my parents in my very tender age itself. The only blood relative, my grandma never even let me stay near to her. I don’t know what is love and affection until I marry Tanuja.”

“Oh, my god! I am feeling really very much embarrassed Rajesh.” Tanuja angrily said.

On hearing her so everyone around laughed.

“You are lucky and unlucky both.” Vinod said. “Losing both the parents like that at such a tender age is really very much unfortunate. Anyhow not all people can get whatever they want in their lives.”

“Mom, now it’s you. Open your heart.” Looking into her mother’s face, Sameera said.

“I will kill you on the spot if you talk more.” Tanuja angrily said.

“Your life story is very much interesting Dr.Rajesh and in fact it is inspiring.” Rose said. “Despite the point losing your both parents at your childhood, despite being kept away from your only close relative like that, you did not lose your courage. You have determined to become a doctor and you became a doctor. Even you have that much of money at your disposal you did not give yourself to bad habits.”

“Rose is absolutely true I must say.” Vinod said. “But the story of Dr.Rose is even more inspiring.”

“Oh, it is not so.” Rose’s cheeks were blushed.

“If you don’t mind I want to hear about you in full Dr.Rose. Please tell us about you.” Rajesh asked her.

“To accept the facts one has to have courage. I am inspired after seeing your courage in broadly telling about everything in that book ‘A Mansion of Illusions’. My past is not very much glorious. My dad expired at my very childhood itself. After that my sister and I have been looked after by my mother for some days. But my mother also was expired. Then my sister has to take the responsibility of me and herself onto her shoulders. I must say she has to do something odd especially to look after my welfare.” Rose paused for a moment and said “It was just something like Malathi’s mother did.”

The downpour then was turned into drizzle again and all those around her could listen what she was saying clearly.

“A neighbor came forward to help us in our education and welfare. He started helping us but my sister was not ready to accept anything as charity. He was a widower and she knew what exactly he needed at that time. She forced him to take it from her. She was aged nineteen years or so at that time.”

There were gasps around. “My god! Really a very peculiar character!” Tanuja said.

“On one occasion she was gang raped by her three close friends. Can any of you guess what she did?” looking into their faces, Rose asked them.

There came shocking expressions into the faces of the people there.

“Certainly she would not have given a police complaint against them. If she did it so, you would not have asked us like this.” Neeraja said. It was very first time to Neeraja also to hear about Rose and her sister like that.

“She understood them and excused them.” Rose said.

They were all shocked even more than when they have heard that her sister was gang-raped. “She excused those rascals! I just cannot understand how could she do it!” the surprising expression in Tanuja’s face was intensified even more.

“Those three were good people until that moment. The three of them were starved for sex until then for several reasons. On that day they three were waiting in the room in which my sister entered all naked after taking bath without knowing their presence. Once they have seen her all naked so and because of their starving for sex for such a long time, they could not control themselves at all and the atrocity happened. So she excused them. But either before that day or after that day they never did a mistake like that.” Rose said.

“Still rape is indeed a very ghastly thing, intolerable and inexcusable.” Rajesh said angrily. “Whatever may be the reasons behind, all the rapists must be punished stringently.”

“Dr.Rajesh is absolutely right. I am also feeling in the same way.” Neeraja said.

“It is indeed great that woman understood the crazy driving force of sex in men.” Vinod said. “Rajesh you think yourself sincerely and said. Would not the force of sex sometimes like that in us?”

Frowns were gathered on the forehead of Rajesh as he put himself into serious thinking for some seconds. “I cannot gainsay you. Yes, you are right. The force of it sometimes in us so. If men are starved for long time after tasting sex, there is no surprise sometimes that they resort to rapes.”

“This fact is not digestible even to men. Even men also cannot tolerate rapes but despite being a woman she understood and excused them. Is it is not a great thing then?” looking straight into the face of Rajesh, Vinod asked him.

“I have to agree she is.” Rajesh nodded his head. “She is indeed remarkable.” After few seconds pause he looked into the face of Rose and asked her. “What she is doing now?”

“She is a practicing lawyer. She married someone who has only half of her age. But they are the happiest couple now.” With a smile on her lips Rose said.

“If there is perfect understanding between the couple, it is not at all surprising.” Vinod said. “What that guy is doing now?”

“He is also a lawyer. They both are doing the combined practice. My sister is the reason for her husband’s studying law and becoming a lawyer.” Rose said.

“Your sister’s story is really very much inspiring! I am thinking your story would be even more interesting to us. Why don’t you let us know about it?” Rajesh asked her.

“My story is not as much inspiring as my sister’s. I cannot say a specific reason but from the beginning I interested in human mind. So gradually I have decided to study psychiatry and my sister helped me in all respect to become a psychiatrist. Without my sister’s help I could not have done anything. So all the credit of my being a reputed psychiatrist must go to my sister.” Rose smiled.

“But Dr.Rose is very famous as a psychiatrist in our country itself. In most of the psychiatrists’ opinion also she is the best psychiatrist. All the critical cases in Black Ant Mental Care would be entrusted to her. Her success rate is very much and there were very few cases of failure to her.” Neeraja said.

“I am an experienced and skilled psychiatrist. But I am not thinking that I am very much famous and reputed.” With a troubling expression on her face Rose said. She did not like being praised so by Neeraja.

“I heard about you a lot. What Neeraja said is absolutely true.” Vinod said.

“Alright, alright. In fact there is one remarkable thing in my life.” As if to change the topic Rose said quickly.

“We are all very much eager to hear about it from you.” Tanuja said.

“Before our marriage my husband is one of the patients who has been joined in our hospital for treatment. His case was entrusted to me. I cured him and in the course of treatment we both have fallen in love and married each other.” Rose said.

“Really very much remarkable and interesting!” Tanuja said. “But I want to have it even more elaborative.”

“My husband has seen something in their old house and that very incident made him mad. He just remained silent staring ahead. There was not any recognition either in his face or eyes. All the time he just stares ahead without doing anything. It took me nearly one month to make him come to his senses. But he forgot all about his past and he could not remember even his name. What even more disturbing to us was if he ever remembered the incident which made him mad like that, there was a chance that he would become mad again. This time there was a possibility that he would become violently mad. Then his mother particularly requested me to marry her son and become his wife to be with him always to guard him from that danger.” Rose paused a moment.

“So it all has become quite convenient to you both.” Vinod laughed. “Very few lovers would do have a chance to marry as easily as you both did.”

“My mother in law was a very rich lady. I never have to regret that I married a mad person.” Rose said.

“Why do you have to regret? You married the person you loved. Moreover he was not mad in fact when you married him.” Vinod said.

“You are right. But for a long time after my marriage also he used to behave odd. I had to face lot of difficulty with him. Whenever his subconscious forced him to remember his past or that particular incident he used to become very much aggressive and in those situations also I have faced trouble. But as we both loved each other very much we always felt happy to be together. We still feel very much lucky that we both can have each other.”

“I am really very much interested in seeing your husband. What he is doing now?” Tanuja asked her.

“My husband has been running a very big business company Mammooth. He inherited it from his father and they manufacture all sorts of electric items. From the beginning it was indeed a very successful company.”

There was silence between them all once again except the sound of the drizzle.

“Dr.Rose ever you came to know about that thing which made your husband completely mad like that?” Rajesh asked her.

Rose did not say anything. She remained staring silently into the rain.

Rajesh understood that Rose did not want to say about it to those people. He felt bad that he asked her like that and put her in embarrassment. He got off from the chair and said “I take some rest now again.” Then he went into their room.

“If you people excuse me, I also want to do the same.” Tanuja also got off from the chair and followed her husband.

“You also need to just come on the back of me? What the people there do think?” Rajesh said when Tanuja entered into that room, closed the doors and latching them.

“To hell with what they think. I don’t want to bother about the other people’s feelings now.” She went near to the bed and slumped herself on it.

“I just wanted to take rest and you occupied it so.” Looking irritatingly towards his wife, Rajesh said.

“There is still enough place for you here.” looking into the face of her husband, Tanuja said. She was lying on her left shoulder side and looking into her husband’s face.

There came a smile onto the lips of Rajesh. He went near to the bed and sat on the side of her. “You are appearing quite naughty now.” Placing his right hand on her right shoulder, Rajesh said.

“Oh, Rajesh!” she took his hand into both of her hands and took it upto her mouth and kissed on that. “I am just remembering how you were on that day. On the very first day we both were met.”

“Why suddenly you are remembering all that?” there came a smile on his lips.
