🌸 The Last Letter- Part 6

Part 6 – The Final Revelation

The cold night air brushed against Aisha’s face as she ran down the empty street, her heart thundering in her chest. The last message glowed on her phone screen:

You made your choice. Now face the consequence.”

Tears blurred her vision. She didn’t know who to believe anymore — Nisha, who claimed to protect her, or Armaan, who had been by her side through everything. The words from the letters echoed in her mind like a warning she had ignored for too long.

Beware of the one you love.”

---

By morning, she could barely stand. Her hands were cold, her eyes swollen from crying. But she knew one thing — she couldn’t keep running. It was time to uncover the truth once and for all.

She went back to the abandoned building in daylight. Dust floated in the sunlight streaming through the broken windows. The candle from last night had melted into a pool of wax. Everything was silent — too silent.

A small envelope rested on the floor, the edges still wet from dew. Aisha picked it up slowly. Her heart raced as she unfolded the paper inside.

You were never supposed to know. But the truth has its own way of finding you.”

Below the words was a name — Armaan.

Her knees went weak. Was he really behind everything? Or was someone framing him?

---

Just then, footsteps echoed from behind. She turned sharply. Armaan stood in the doorway, his expression unreadable.

“You shouldn’t have come here alone,” he said quietly.

Aisha’s voice trembled. “Why? So you could keep lying to me?”

He looked at her for a long moment before speaking. “I never lied. I only hid what you weren’t ready to know.”

Her pulse quickened. “Then tell me now. Tell me everything.”

Armaan sighed, walking closer until he stood just a few feet away. “Do you remember the bus accident from the first letter? You were never meant to be on that bus. But I was.”

Aisha froze. “What do you mean?”

“I was the one who sent the first letter,” he confessed softly. “Not to scare you — to save you. That accident was meant for me. But someone else changed the plan. I realized then that someone was watching you too, using my name to send you more letters.”

Her mind spun. “So the others… the messages, the warnings?”

“Not all were from me,” he said. “After I sent the first one, someone took over. They wanted you to distrust me — to separate us.”

---

Before she could respond, a sound came from the corridor. Nisha stepped into view, her eyes red, a folded letter in her hand.

“So, you finally told her,” she said bitterly. “You think the truth will fix everything? You ruined her life, Armaan!”

Armaan’s face hardened. “You were the one sending the rest of the letters, weren’t you?”

Nisha’s hand shook. “Yes. I had to. After the accident, I found out you were following her, protecting her like some obsession. I thought you’d hurt her one day. The letters were my way of keeping her safe.”

Aisha stared at both of them, unable to breathe. Everything was spinning — love, protection, fear, betrayal.

---

Armaan turned to Aisha, his voice calm but filled with pain. “I never wanted you to fear me, Aisha. I loved you. Every letter I sent was to keep you alive.”

Nisha’s tears fell silently. “And every letter I sent was to keep you away from him.”

For a long moment, no one spoke. The air was heavy with unspoken emotions.

Aisha finally whispered, “Both of you were trying to protect me… but you ended up destroying my peace.”

---

She walked past them, her steps slow but steady. Outside, the world was quiet, and for the first time in weeks, she felt free — even if the truth had broken her heart.

Later that evening, she placed all the letters in a box, tied it with a red ribbon, and wrote one final note on top:

Sometimes, love and fear speak the same language. But I choose peace.”

She placed the box by her window, letting the wind take the last letter away.

As the paper drifted into the sky, Aisha smiled faintly. The mystery had ended, but her life — her story — was just beginning.
