Chasing butterflies …….

(A spicy hot romantic and suspense thriller)

By

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

Now she was suffering with mixed feelings towards Madhuri. The past life of Madhuri which she heard from Madan really disturbed her a lot. She could not understand whether to feel pity or to get angry on her. Her mind slowly became blank and she did not know when she engulfed by sleep which evaded her mercilessly until that moment.

That ear piercing sound in the silence of that night made Madan sat bolt straight on the bed. Even in his agitated and confused state as well his mind found out where from that sound was coming. He at once came off the bed and his feet moved at their fullest speed when his mind registered the fact that the sound was nothing but the yells of Susmitha and coming from her very room.

The way he found Susmitha in her room made him even more agitated and confused and he quickened his speedy pace even more to reach her. She stood in the middle of the room with wide opened eyes and yelling at her highest pitch. Immediately he took her shoulders into his hands and jerked her front and back with force while calling her name loud.

It seemed worked and she closed her mouth at once then straightened her sight on to his face and there came recognition at last in them. She frowned as if she could not understand anything at all.

“Susmitha, what happened? Why are you yelling like that?” his voice shivered while asking so and by that time all the other family members as well came there.

She bore her uneasy looks on all of them as well but did not say anything at all. It appeared so that she still was in confusion and did not know what to say at all.

“I have asked you why did you have yelled like that? You owe an answer to me.” Looking into her eyes Madan asked.

“Let her relax first. Lay her on the bed. She would tell what happened later.” Pallav said as if he comprehended the situation better.

Hearing that, Jayanthi came fast near to Susmitha and took her into her hands and led her slowly onto the bed. There she laid her gently on it and turned to Madan. “What your annayya (brother) said is right. First let her take some rest. Then she would tell us what happened.”

Madan nodded his head in agreement seeing reason in what she had said but his mind was still full of anxiety and agitation. Involuntarily his mind was trying to guess why Susmitha yelled like that and it was putting one gruesome reason for that.

“That Mamatha came into this room.” Susmitha said looking into the faces around. It appeared as if she had got her courage back after seeing all of them in her room so.

“Mamatha came into this room? What you are speaking?” this was that one reason which Madan until then praying God not to be the reason made Susmitha yelled. But God was less mercy this time.

“I am telling you the truth whether you believe it or not.” Uneasiness crept into her face again. “She came into this very room and stood before me.”

“You have seen Mamatha before and talked with her too. But why did you have yelled like that just seeing her before you?” Madan could not control his irritation. His voice was sharp like knife.

Susmitha closed her eyes as if she did not like to see the frown on Madan’s face. “She tried to enter into my body. So I have yelled that loud.” Her voice shivered.

“Mamatha tried to enter into your body? How it is possible?” Again Madan asked with the same irritation in his voice.

Susmitha guessed the frown on his face might have been intensified even more so she did not open her eyes and looked at him.

“It is possible. I know the incidents that devils enter into the bodies of human beings.” It was the topic Vineet loved so much. With his love on that subject he temporarily forgot that the person in trouble was Madan whom he liked most.

Susmitha relieved a little and looked gratifyingly at Vineet.

“Shut up. I did not ask you anything.” Madan said angrily.

“That is why I yelled like that. I cannot say more than this at all now.” Saying so she closed her eyes again.

“Susmitha is an educated and intelligent woman. I don’t think that she would be subjected to such type of wild imaginations without reason.” Pallav said.

“What else it is if not an imagination?” Madan could not contain his irritation. “Fortifying her false beliefs would make the problem even worse.”

“I am agreeing with your brother’s opinion Madan.” Jayanthi intruded. “We are not encouraging her false beliefs. But we must not rule out completely what she is saying.”

“What do we need to do now? Tell me.” Going near to the bed and slumping himself on that Madan asked.

Pallav came near to him and placed his hand on his shoulder. “Leave it for now. Early in the morning we are going to discuss about this.” Madan felt a little comfortable by his touch and with his words.

“But I cannot leave Susmitha all alone now after she has gone through an experience like that.” Looking into the face of Susmitha, Madan said. The innocence mixed with her beauty was still having a striking affect on him.

“I shall be with her for the rest of the night. You people don’t worry and go and take rest.” Jayanthi said and went near to the bed and sat beside Susmitha.

The rest of the people felt relaxed on hearing that as the sleep crouched heavily on the lids of their eyes.

“A guest shall come to our house soon.” Sitting in the chair in the room of Susmitha, Madan said.

She swiftly looked into his face and the expression on it was a complex one to her to understand. “Is it is he or she?” she asked.

“She. Sister of my vadina (brother’s wife).” Not altering his sight from her face he answered.

“Aged just as much aged as you are, one or two years more or less.” He further said.

“What she is doing now?” she could not understand herself why but she did not like a girl coming to that home.

“A psychologist. She completed her post graduation with psychology .” He found out the slight hostility in her face, could understand why it was so and he knew that it would be evaporated once she acquainted with this guest.

“I am feeling happy. She would be a good time pass to me then.” Trying to bring some enthusiasm into her face Susmitha said.

“Sure. You need no doubt in that at all.” he smiled. He felt happier as there was no anxiety or uneasiness in her face then. She feared a lot last night. Why she was imagining every time Mamatha in such a way he could not understand. In fact he did phone to his cousin Sukanya, the sister of his vadina (brother’s wife), and asked her to come here. But not just to be a good time pass to Susmitha. He thought since she did post graduation with psychology, she could surely solve the problem of Susmitha as well.

“What you are thinking?” coming near to him Susmitha asked him. “You are angry with me since I made you not to go into that mango tope, is it is not?”

“I have already told you it is not at all so.” got off from the chair he sat, placing his hands on her shoulders Madan said. “It just reflects how much love you have got on me. Only for my safety, you have made me to do such a promise.”

“Oh, thank you. You understood me.” She put her head on his chest and hugged him strongly. “You just don’t know how much fear I am feeling. She came into this room on yesterday. She tried to enter into me also. It is a new worry to me. She started coming to the house as well. I am afraid that she may do harm to you.”

Her tight hugging like that created new feelings in him. Madan put his hands around her. He wanted to tighten his grip around her but instead of doing so he perched her face up with his index finger placing under her chin. “No one can do anything to me. You just be brave. Alright?” looking into her eyes he said.

She nodded her head, released him and went away. Her cheeks were turned into light crimson with shame. “Sorry.” She muttered under her breath.

“You need not feel sorry at all. I enjoyed it a lot.” With a sneer he said.

“You naughty, I shall be in my care in future.” Susmitha said.

“Sukanya is coming.” Jayanthi said. At that time only she and Vineet were present in the kitchen.

“Is it is so? When she is coming?” turning his head towards her, Vineet asked. It created different feelings in him.

She observed his face and there was no real interest in it. He asked it as if for courtesy’s sake. And there was no surprise in his feeling like that. She knew her sister’s nature very well that sometimes she would behave very arrogant. She was suffering with a sort of superiority complex and many a time Sukanya hurt the feelings of Vineet.

“I shall ask her to behave properly with you. Let me know if she does misbehave with you and hurt your feelings.” Once again fully indulging herself in her cooking work Jayanthi said.

“She is younger to me. She is just ignorant of some matters. I never felt offensive with her behavior.” Finishing his coffee and placing the cup on the dining table Vineet said. “When she is coming?” he asked again.

“She may come at anytime on this day.” Jayanthi said.

“Now I am going into the fields. I shall be available only in the evening.” Moving away from that place Vineet said.

Even after he went away from that room, Jayanthi thought only about him. His mother was a relative to her husband. She came with him to this house when Vineet was just two years or so old. In fact it was Pallav who invited her to this house seeing her suffering a lot with her son to live after her husband’s deanth. After one year or so she became victim of cancer and the treatment got provided to her by Madan’s family was not much helpful. She died when Vineet was just three and half years aged. Thereafter Vineet had grown up in that family. She and Pallav treated him as they treated Madan. They wanted to make him educated but Vineet did not show much interest in studies at all. He could not complete even his tenth class either. But he started helping Pallav in fields work and proved himself quite efficient in that. The love and affection that she and her husband shown on him grew more and more day after day but had never decreased.

“You must marry Vineet. As soon as Madan’s marriage is over, we shall get you married.” Recently Jayanthi was often saying this to him.

“No vadina (brother’s wife). I don’t want to be got married. I like leading my life lonely like this. Never try to make me get married, please.” He was indeed not liked to be got married.
