Poem
1
If I were a beautiful flower, tender and bright,
I would bloom with joy in the morning light.
Though my life be short, fragile, and small,
I would embrace the world, giving fragrance to all.

I would sway with the breeze, so gentle, so free,
Whispering secrets to the birds on the tree.
Not fearing the night, nor the scorching noon,
But dancing with hope under silver moon.

In the temple’s corner, I’d fall at God’s feet,
Where prayers and chants in devotion meet.
To be offered by a bhakt with folded hands,
Would make my journey divine, across all lands.

Upon the chest of a shaheed, so brave and true,
I’d rest with pride, bathed in the morning dew.
My petals would honor the blood he gave,
Blooming forever on his sacred grave.

On a bride’s forehead, as a garland so sweet,
I’d shine with joy when her beloved she’d meet.
Her smile would glow as her dreams take flight,
And I’d fade with grace in her wedding night.

In a child’s soft hair, I’d love to stay,
While she runs through fields in a carefree way.
Her laughter would make me feel alive,
Even though in a day, I may not survive.

I’d rest in the book of a poet’s art,
Pressed between verses close to his heart.
Though my colors may fade, my scent would remain,
Immortal in lines of his tender refrain.

I’d float on the river in a tiny stream,
Carried by currents like a fleeting dream.
Touching the banks where villagers sing,
Blessing the land with the joy I bring.

In the soldier’s hand, on his journey long,
I’d whisper courage, steady and strong.
Even as bullets pierce the dark night sky,
I’d remind him of love that can never die.

Upon a saint’s altar, silent and pure,
I’d rest with peace, my spirit secure.
Though my petals fall, my soul would stay,
In chants that echo at the break of day.

In the hair of a mother, working with grace,
I’d shine with pride on her tired face.
Her strength would keep me fresh and bright,
Till I melt away with the coming night.

Yes, I am a flower, my life is brief,
Yet I choose to bloom without sorrow or grief.
For though my journey is fleeting and small,
I gave my fragrance, my joy, to all.
