In dreams we rise
on silent wings
past broken skies
and rusted rings
we float through night
like drifting sand
with stars in eyes
and open hand
we plant our hopes
in barren ground
and hear their echo
not their sound
the wind it hums
a lullaby
of dreams once born
but left to die
we chase the light
with aching feet
and still believe
the dark is sweet
each thought we mold
from fire and mist
is kissed by time
then lost in twist
we fall, we rise
we break, we mend
the dust is both
beginning, end
we write with ash
on passing breeze
our nameless prayers
our silent pleas
and yet we sing
with breath and trust
for dreams are born
from tears and dust
no dream is lost
no dust too small
each fall we take
contains it all
and in the dark
a spark will bloom
a ghost of hope
in deepest gloom
so let us dream
though dreams may fall
they leave behind
the soul of all
